On this World Tourism Day, with the theme “Tourism and Sustainable Transformation”, we renew Punjab’s commitment to heritage, environment, and inclusive growth. Tourism is not simply about visitors, it is about protecting our past, investing in our communities, and ensuring our cultural and natural assets are preserved for generations to come.
Under our vision of Magnificent Punjab, 170 priority sites have been mapped, and Punjab Archaeology shall execute schemes worth 30 billion PKR. This year alone 24 major projects worth PKR 10 billion are being executed by Punjab Archaeology. These initiatives span heritage, culture, eco-tourism, faith, and adventure thus creating a holistic tourism ecosystem for Punjab.
Our efforts are not only about conserving monuments but transforming them into living, breathing cultural spaces. With scientific restoration, sustainable facilities, and visitor-friendly amenities, Punjab is setting new benchmarks in heritage preservation and tourism development.
Punjab’s vision is clear: culture, heritage, and tourism must go hand in hand with prosperity, education, and pride. On this World Tourism Day, I call upon every citizen, every traveler, and every stakeholder: let us travel consciously, support our heritage, and build a tourism future that sustains both the land and the people of Punjab.
